We are within walking distance to Porthkerry Park, Barry Island beach (where Gavin and Stacy was filmed) and Barry train station.

Aberthaw House Hotel is set in the charming West End of Barry, just a 10 minute drive from the M4 motorway. The property was built in 1892 and boasts some original features. It offers full cooked breakfasts, coffee and a selection of cereals.

We also offer a fully stocked Bar as well as Segafredo Coffee, Royal English blend Tea, also a selection of cakes and light bites. We also offer a wide range of Tapas,, Pizza, and Charcuterie in our newly refurbished Bar. Our opening times are Monday to Friday5pm til 8pm Saturday5pm til 8pm. Sunday is available of request.

Rooms at Aberthaw House Hotel are cosy, with tea and coffee-making facilities. Each room has a TV with digital channels, with en-suite bath or shower facilities. Free Wifi throughout the building on request.

Barry Train Station is a short 5-minute walk away, Where trains to Cardiff City centre and surrounding areas are frequent. Barry has a wide range of attractions for all to enjoy such as Barry Island pleasure park, Whitemore Bay, and Porthkerry country park, which hosts a 12 hole mini golf course, nature walks as well as outdoor BBqs in the summer, ( pre booking required from the Barry town council) Other attractions include, Glamorgan Wartime Heritage Centre see website for details at www.wartimeglamorgan.co.uk, Barry Tourist Railway Barry Island, Operating both diesel and steam trains. Trains run on scheduled dates during the summer months and special events are held at Easter and Christmas.

 We had a very warm welcome and this friendliness continued throughout our stay.
We asked for an early breakfast on departure day and it was not a problem.
Our room also had a great view down to the sea.
Only a 10 minute walk into town
